Foundations of Life 2

For if a building stands on shaky foundations, it won’t stand for long.

Previously explored: Alternative.

Explored in this one: Food and Health Food.

Food and Health Food.

Definition: Food.

a. as 1. material consisting essentially of protein, carbohydrate, and fat used in the body of an organism to sustain growth, repair, and vital processes and to furnish energy; also: such food together with supplementary substances (as minerals, vitamins, and condiments); 2. inorganic substances absorbed by plants in gaseous form or in water solution.

b. nutriment in solid form.

c. something that nourishes, sustains, or supplies.

Definition: Health Food.

a. food that is believed to be good for your health: a food that has no artificial ingredients.

Perhaps this article is skewed from exploring the definitions directly. But when both are considered together, don’t they make for interesting thought.

For me whilst “food” itself is a big label, the fact that as stated “protein, carbohydrate, and fat used in the body of an organism to sustain growth, repair, and vital processes and to furnish energy”, is still related to food.

Doesn’t it raise the question, under this definition where do all the chemicals added to most “food” today fit under the definition? The Binders, the smothers, the added flavours, the added colours, the added ….

The Answer is that they don’t: simple, clean, responsibly clear.

Under the definition of Food, they form no part.

So have you asked yourself why? Why you are consuming a toxic mix of chemicals buried deep into what is being sold to as “Food”. When under the definition, none of them, not one, should be associated anywhere near what is going into your body each day.

Isn’t it also interesting to read the definition of Health Food: “A food that has no artificial ingredients”. In this statement is the hidden clue not cited one bit in the definition of food. And that is of course all the chemicals and additives they have slipped into your Food, not mentioned in the definition of Food.

So here we are, and organic being, needing calories each day to survive as warm blooded mammals. Yet our food or most of it today, just isn’t actually food anymore. Those chemicals additives and frankly just junk mixed in with what was once food, now doesn’t qualify the mustard as food.

What is meant by the word additives?

Is this the crack of light from behind which door they stuff food full of crap?

On the other side of this exploration, if your local shop has a Health Food section, where does that leave all the other products on the shelves? Is this unhealthy food? For which no definition in the English language exists, it seems.

Perhaps in a parting pun, Food for Thought.
